Rossetti Studio

Almost 500,000 plates produced by three generations of the Rossetti family (the father Simone, sons Alfredo and Oreste, niece Rosalba) portray life in Biella and the Biellese over a century, from 1880 to 1980. The themes are varied: factories, shops, amenities such as hospitals, stations, libraries and associations. However, most of the considerable photographic patrimony consists of portraits taken in their studios in Mosso S. Maria, Vallemosso and Biella. As well as plates, there is also some of the laboratory equipment (cameras, enlargers, studio furnishings) and the important records of customers representing a century of local history.
