Adriano Tournon

Engineer and public figure, Adriano Tournon joined the Subalpine Photography Society as a young man. In 1907 he was one of the organisers and judges at the  International Exhibition of Turin and in 1909 he published two articles in “Artistic Photography”. In 1911 at the headquarters of the Subalpine Society he saw Auguste Lumière presenting the new autochrome technique for the printing of colour plates and adopted it enthusiastically, producing over 100 autochromes. Besides the autochromes the Sella Foundation conserves numerous albums of family life and travels in Italy, Europe and North Africa.
