Cesare Sella

Author of a visually impressive series of documentary photographs of the First World War, in which he served with his brother Giuseppe and cousin Ugo, Cesare Sella also illustrated the traditions and landscapes of Sardinia where he managed the “Sella and Mosca” winery. Also of interest is the documentation related to his many travels in Europe and elsewhere, often accompanied by his father Vittorio, his uncle Erminio and brother Giuseppe. Of great historical importance are the spectacular photographs documenting the Biellese, some of which were taken from the air. Many two-toned prints, measuring 30×40 cms and 20x70cms were made by his father Vittorio.
