Sergio Ferrarotti

Sergio Ferrarotti specialised in black and white landscapes and portraits and experimented with reworking and recomposing his pictures using photomontage and collages. His “puppet theatre” series is famous. By adopting these techniques his photography often became a real work of art and was frequently displayed in various Italian locations alongside the work of artists. Ferrarotti always printed his own pictures. In 1979 he lived for a short while in Paris where he produced large-sized prints which he described as “futurist”.
